Social media listening and analytics company Awario has rolled out a new sentiment analysis algorithm that works for every language and is available in every pricing plan. It has replaced Awario’s sentiment analysis feature that only worked for English.
Awario has done extensive testing for the languages that are most popular with Awario users (English, French, Spanish, German, and Portuguese) as well as smaller tests for other languages. The accuracy of sentiment analysis for no language falls below 65%, said the company in a blog post announcing the new feature.
Sentiment analysis is the process of determining the attitude expressed by someone towards a topic or phenomenon. In social listening, sentiment analysis is most commonly used for online mentions of a brand to quantify the mindset of consumers towards that brand. Most sentiment analysis tools categorize mentions in positive, negative, and neutral.
